Well hello new followers! I’ve been a bit quiet lately due to a lot of work on the DWCA website and, of course, organising Whovention which is this weekend.

Someone said a British newspaper leaked an interview Alex Kingston did for fans while she in Australia.
She had 3 main “spoilers”:
- She’s in the Series 7 finale. (Not a surprise to most fans online.)
- River will reveal a big secret that she has been keeping
- She will play a major role in…

Doctor Who location shoot “stalkers” on Gallifrey Base spotted Alex, a stand in for the 2nd Doctor, Matt and reportedly Jenna doing a outdoor scene in Cardiff in the first week of December when they were completing filming for the 7b finale. Alex mentioned in the dwca article and also in a radio interview that she had just finished filming on location in Cardiff for Doctor Who before she came to Australia.
Leaks also started to pop up in the British press about series 8 in early January- and the spoiler that gets repeated consistently is that River will try to enlist the earlier versions of the Doctor to save 11- something 11 opposes. (Doctor Who staff are not denying these spoilers in the press at all,The only denials are coming from the very loud, but distinct minority, of British Who fans that hate River…)
Apparently something similar happened the lead up to series 6- some people in the British press must be River Song fans- to make sure River spoilers leak out- which means someone on staff at Doctor Who is leaking these spoilers too. (heh I think it’s someone Moffat actually authorizes to leak these select spoilers because he knows just how popular a character River is in worldwide Doctor Who fandom- making sure those River fans tune back in, no matter how long the wait!)
God damn I tried to reply but characters are limited.
The DWCA didn’t go to a press conference. I interviewed Alex for the DWCA and I talked to her for half an hour. Just her, after I had talked to Mark Williams for half an hour and before I talked to Murray Gold for half an hour.
We broke the news about her being in series 7 part 2.
There is more news in the full interview in our club magazine, which is available to members.
We knew about the first two of the above listed, but she gave no indication to us about her future on Doctor Who past series 7.

On Friday I met and interviewed Alex Kingston. She’s delightful. She is just so beautiful.
I also met and interviewed Mark Williams and Murray Gold.

Best birthday present ever.
I absolutely hate to see this picture on my dashboard.
-Belle is crying because she just gave up her whole life to save her father. She now has to spend the rest of her days as a prisoner isolated with only talking teapots and a monster as company. She did one of the bravest possible things she could have done. He’s hardly a prince, but she changes his heart and sees past his exterior.
-Ariel is crying because she wants to be on the surface, she feels trapped, and her father just yelled at her in rage about her interests. He destroyed all her ‘treasures’ and now she is left feeling more alone and trapped than before. She didn’t ‘wait’ for her Prince. She sought out Ursula and gave up what was dearest to her just to meet him. She left everything behind for what she wanted, loved, and dreamed of.
-Jasmine is crying because in three days she has to married, and she doesn’t love a single man who came for her hand in marriage. She ran away from her comfortable sheltered life in the palace to live on the street, and falls for a homeless man. How is that waiting for a prince?
- I don’t actually remember Aurora crying, but through the course of the movie she learns that her whole life (with the three faries) is a lie, she’s not actually Briar Rose as she thinks, that she’s betrothed, and then theres the whole deal with the witch wanting to kill her. I think thats reason enough to cry. Finally, she didn’t even wait for her Prince. She was essentially in a coma.
-Cinderella was basically a slave, her family kept her locked in the attic, they were cruel to her, her only friends we mice. Even her name was demeaning, like the cinder girl. Finally she has a beautiful dress to go to a ball, and her step sisters tear that apart too. She’s got nothing. Isn’t that reason enough to cry?
-First of all this is contradictory since Mulan is crying in this picture, and THEN she’s also the ‘fighting’ one. She’s crying because her elderly father is being sent off to war, and will most likely die. She goes in his place, defying everyone and everything from her culture, to save his life. (OH AND SHE DOESN’T MARRY A PRINCE)
I will defend princesses until the end, it may seem silly, but this is silly too. Why is it bad to cry? Why does that make you weak? It doesn’t.
